"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace" (Hebrews 4:16). Boldness is certainly not arrogance nor pride. It is humble confidence and assurance in the grace of God. Our access to God is by bold faith without doubt. With such faith God is pleased (Hebrews 11:6).
Bold faith prays with confidence and assurance. Bold faith simply will not be denied. Bold faith in God is in the name of Jesus. "Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him" (Ephesians 3:11-12).
Bold faith is access to the throne of grace based on the finished work of Jesus Christ at the cross. It's based upon the shed blood of Jesus. Bold faith is not self-confidence. To the contrary, it's confidence in Christ alone. Bold faith in God comes through Christ alone. "Therefore, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way" (Hebrews 10:19).
Bold faith comes to the throne of grace only and always through Jesus Christ our Lord. The price has been paid for us to have bold access. It was paid in His blood. Three days later, the Spirit of God raised Jesus from the dead. Bold faith God is based upon the power of His resurrection.
