"But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is" (Hebrews 11:6). The only way that you can please God is by faith, because it is the evidence that God is working in you what is well-pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 13:20-21).
You please God by faith, based upon the promises of God. Faith stands upon the word of God (Romans 10:17). God's word promises we are saved by grace through faith. "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8).
You please God by faith, as an abiding gift of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 13:13). Faith is focused on the Son of God, who died for our sins and was raised from the dead. That's good news known as the gospel of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).
You please God, which is more than mental assent or human effort. It is a result of the Holy Spirit bringing you to a point of confidence, assurance, and trust in the living God. It's faith that the world didn't give you, and the world can't take it away. The gift of faith comes from the Holy Spirit working in you. "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13).
