How Are We Saved?

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5). God saved us in Christ from the law of sin and death. Our self-righteousness is as filthy rags before God (Isaiah 64:6). To the contrary, the righteousness of God in Christ is accounted to all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21).

We are saved through the work of Christ. Our works can never save us. Only by the work of Christ are we saved. The finished work of Christ is seen at the cross. He cried out, "It is finished" (John 19:30). Jesus died on the cross "to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness" (Daniel 9:24).

We are saved through the gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). In Christ crucified, we have reconciliation with God. The end of our sins are seen at the cross. Our transgressions against God are finished at the cross. Christ brings to us everlasting righteousness through the gospel. He takes away our sins and gives us His righteousness. That's how God saved us.

We saved in Christ alone, according to the Bible. There is salvation in no other (Acts 4:12). Christ alone died for your sins. Christ alone is risen from the dead to reconcile us with God. Christ alone gives us everlasting righteousness. God saves all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31).
