Jesus is salvation for all who believe (Romans 1:16-17). We experience salvation in Christ alone. There is salvation in none other (Acts 4:12). The word salvation means deliverance. Only Jesus can deliver us from darkness into the light. Jesus delivers believers from the bondage and curse of sin. Jesus delivers us from condemnation.
Jesus is salvation through the gospel. The word gospel simply means good news. Jesus is the good news for sinners. The good news is that Jesus died for our sins. He is risen from the dead to give us eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).
Jesus is salvation through the power of God. Jesus is the power of God. He has all power in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). His power comes to us through the Holy Spirit. The same power raised Jesus from the dead (Romans 1:4). The Holy Spirit gives us the abiding gift of faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, through the gospel (Romans 10:17; 1 Cor. 13:13).
Jesus is salvation as the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). Jesus is our righteousness. Through believing the gospel, we receive the righteousness of God in Christ. The great exchange takes place with our conversion to Christ. We give Him our sins. He gives us His righteousness.
