How God Accepts Us

God accepts us in His only begotten Son (John 3:16). Our sin is always unacceptable to God. He sent his Son into this world to take away our sin. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). At the cross, Jesus died for our sin. We are accepted by faith in God's beloved Son. He made us accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6).

God accepts us through the righteousness of Christ. God takes away our sin and counts us righteous in Christ alone (2 Corinthians 5:21). Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, we receive the righteousness of God. That's when we can sing, "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness."

God accepts us in Christ, though we are not perfect, and never will be in this life. We have all failed God in many different ways. The Bible calls it sin. We can never earn our way into God's favor. His unmerited favor is called grace, and it's always a gift received by faith in Christ. Then we may testify, "by the grace of God I am what I am" (1 Corinthians 15:10).

God accepts us in Christ with love divine. His love for us is personal. God's love for us is reality seen at the cross of Jesus (Romans 5:8). He died for our sins. His sacrifice takes away all our sin (1 John 1:7). His resurrection gives us life abundant and everlasting. God accepts us by faith in Christ (Romans 5:1). God's love for us is forever (Romans 8:38-39).
