Jesus said, The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit (John 3:8). Believers in Jesus Christ our Lord are born again (1 John 5:1).
We are born of the Spirit through the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord (Titus 3:4-5). The Holy Spirit alone can change our hearts (Romans 2:28-29). Regeneration is our new birth through the Holy Spirit. We are born from above, because the Holy Spirit comes from above (John 3:6-7).
Like the wind, the Holy Spirit moves with great power. His power is omnipotent. The wind moves at unexpected times and in unexpected ways. It's hard to explain, and often difficult to understand. The Holy Spirit, like the wind, moves when, where, and how he pleases. The Holy Spirit moves to the praise of God's glory.
New birth changes our hearts (Ezekiel 36:26). New birth is the work of only one, the Holy Spirit (John 3:7-8). We are born of the Spirit with a genuine love for God and a heart to obey Christ. God's Spirit works in us, what we could never do by ourselves. Believers are born of the Spirit through new creation in Christ (John 3:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
